Over the last 70 years, York Nursery has blossomed from one man’s love of gardening into a flourishing multi-generational establishment dedicated to helping every customer cultivate their unique environmental vision. Today a third generation of Hebels, Chris and Gary are managing the Landscape and Maintenance divisions with fourth generation learning alongside them. Both Chris and Gary value the generations of experience and knowledge, in addition to their formal qualifications, which have prepared them for their roles today.
York Nursery’s landscape team is recognizable by their bright sunny yellow trucks and, more significantly by their striking estate and commercial designs. The professional landscape designers are prepared to work closely with clients to create custom greenscapes that suit all budgets and dreams.
York Nursery’s maintenance crews skillfully and carefully preserve a property’s idyllic plantings in order to keep everything growing healthy and vigorously for customer enjoyment.
Snow and Ice Management is also carried out with great diligence over the winter season for commercial and residential accounts. Many of the team members have multiple years of experience and have taken the “Smart About Salt” advanced training course.
Although York Nursery’s Garden Centre has grown over the many years that it has occupied 1541 Highland Rd. W. Kitchener, it was recently decided upon to sell the land. As of March 31, 2017, the Garden Centre has closed. York Nursery will continue to operate and focus on the other divisions – Landscaping, Lawn Maintenance and Snow & Ice Management.
From a grandfather’s early success as a local pioneer to their current prominence as an established, thriving business with knowledgeable landscape specialists, all staff within York Nursery’s divisions strive to provide their clients with personal and exceptional service.
