Gary Hebel
Landscape and Maintenance Director, Owner

Gary has been diligently involved with the landscape industry for over 40 years and is a part owner of his family’s heritage. Gary is the son of Bud Hebel Jr. and appreciates the many years he has benefitted from his father’s mentorship and caring assistance. Gary graduated with honours from Humber’s Landscape Technology program and has gone on to receive many awards for his work.

He served on the Waterloo Chapter Board of Landscape Ontario for 10 years in addition to 3 years on the Provincial Board. Gary has further certification as a Horticulturist/Greenskeeper.

Chris Hebel
Garden Centre Director, Owner

Since 1975, Chris has been actively involved with Garden Retail Centre as a manager and part owner of her family’s legacy. Walter Petzke, a great uncle to Chris and Gary, originally managed the garden centre until he passed away in 1980. Chris feels fortunate to have worked with Walter for 5 years and gained much down-to-earth knowledge from him. In April of that same year, Chris graduated with honours from the Retail Floriculture program at Humber College. In the time that Chris has taken over the management of the nursery, it has blossomed into an award winning retailer. With the recent decision to sell the land, the Garden Centre has closed. Chris continues to assist Gary with landscape design and quotes.

Bud Hebel Jr.
Honorary Mention – Now completely retired at the grand age of 81.

Bud, son of E.J. Hebel Sr., was the one who established the landscape division. Throughout the years, Bud was well known for his trademark style of blending his distinctive plant choices with natural hardscape elements. Bud’s gardening artistry and his honest, friendly manner has cultivated a loyal group of customers and inspired another generation of local landscapers.
