Indoor Plants for Cleaner Air

Our homes and offices can be so tightly sealed, that without natural ventilation, they can be making us sick. The vapours from dangerous chemicals are present in many places throughout our rooms from cleansers, ink print, plastics, aerosols, smoke – to name just a few.

Fortunately, plants can improve the air quality. They have the ability to take in these dangerous vapours, process them and release fresh air. Just 8 – 15 indoor plants throughout a medium sized home can significantly improve the air quality.

Some plants are more effective at cleaning the air than others. The following is a list of some of the better ones:

  • Dracaena Marginata
  • Dracaena Warneckei
  • Peace Lily
  • Mother-in-Law Tongue
  • English Ivy
  • Gerbera
  • Chinese Evergreen
  • Spider Plant
  • Golden Pothos
  • Banana Tree
